They’re keeping it real about what it’s like growing up Indigenous today — talking about identity, mental health, culture, fashion, and everything in between. Through stories, laughter, and honest convo, Kairyn and Scott show us that being ourselves is our biggest flex.

Kairyn is a youth advocate and content creator who’s all about lifting up Indigenous and 2SLGBTQ+ youth. Scott is a fashion icon and changemaker using their style and voice to bring truth and pride to every space they step into.

In this powerful and reflective session, students will explore the deep connection between Indigenous Peoples and the Land and Water. Through discussion and storytelling, participants will learn why it's important for Indigenous youth to take on leadership roles in land-based work and how these relationships with the natural world can strengthen our mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being.
This is a space to reconnect, reflect, and be reminded that caring for the Land and Water is also a way of caring for ourselves and our communities.

Held in a traditional tipi setting, this session offers young men the opportunity to sit with a respected male Elder to learn the sacred role of the oskapeyos — the helper. Through storytelling and guidance, youth will explore what it means to live with honour, humility, and service. These teachings support their growth into responsible, respectful young men who uphold their roles as helpers to Elders, family, and community.

Cultural movement powwow fitness is a fun time to get active. It is for all levels of fitness, we start out with a group stretch and get into some beginner powwow steps/moves. It is a follow along type session that is facilitated for all ages. The session comes with a brief description on the  powwow categories. The cultural connection is very important for the students, some may dance powwow already and some may have the thought of dancing. The purpose is to get connected with Identity and the goal is to see more of the students want to continue engaging in the powwow dance. Inspire dance through being the leader!
