About me
"As a dedicated Youth Advocate and Educator, I am committed to empowering youth in care, sexual minorities, and Two-Spirit/Indigiqueer youth. Proudly Isgabi Nakota Sioux from Paul First Nation and Alexis Nakota Sioux in Treaty 6 Territory, I currently reside in Toronto with roots firmly planted in Amiskwaciywaskahikan (Edmonton) and surrounding areas. I am available for both in-person and virtual engagements.
I co-founded the indigenous gaming organization Neechi Clan and host Snapchat's groundbreaking Canadian Original Series "Reclaim(ed)." As a full-time content creator, host, model, actor, and motivational speaker, my career reflects my passion for advocacy and education.
I engage in constructing, planning, and facilitating workshops and educational dialogues with various organizations at provincial and national levels. Over the past decade, I've visited over 100 First Nations to meet and work with young people, focusing on the rights and needs of indigenous youth. I strive to make a significant impact in Two Spirit communities and have served as the youth board representative for the 2 Spirits in Motion Society, Director of Education and Outreach for Edmonton 2 Spirit Society, and youth resource developer for 2-Spirited People of the 1st Nation.
As a sexual health educator and advocate, I proudly joined the SexFluent squad, an initiative by CANFAR. This role allows me to blend my advocacy skills with a deep commitment to sexual health education, addressing the needs and concerns of diverse youth communities. Indigenous HIV testing and awareness is a pillar of my work.
I've modeled for runways at SWAIA in Santa Fe, Indigenous Fashion Arts in Toronto, Western Canadian Fashion Week, and New York Fashion Week, and appeared in campaigns for various fashion and beauty brands.
In 2022, I was honored to be named to TikTok's global discovery list as a "Changemaker," one of only two Canadians to make the list. This recognition highlights my efforts in creating impactful content that drives positive change, solidifying my role as an influential voice in various communities.
My speaking engagements reflect my commitment to advocacy and education. I've contributed to platforms such as CBC's ETalk, CTV’s The Social, and APTN InFocus. Participating in influential events like The World Aids Conference 2022 and the Inuit Trans+ Summit has been especially rewarding. I've also spoken at the Tkaronto Music Festival, Toronto Pride, and numerous youth forums and conferences nationwide, showcasing the beauty and diversity of indigenous and Two-Spirit communities.
I was honored to deliver a first-of-its-kind masterclass on content creation and new media at the imagineNATIVE film festival and serve as a red carpet correspondent for the Toronto International Film Festival.
I always bring my natural humor into my work, whether as an MC/host, workshop facilitator, or keynote presenter. Through these platforms, I aim to inspire, educate, and advocate for a more inclusive and understanding world.
I'm excited to continue my work and look forward to collaborating with your organization or community."
